Sooraj Barjatya on Bada Naam Karenge
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sooraj Barjatya speaks about his show Bada Naam Karenge. He said, “Farak me sirf pehenave me hota hai, bartav me hota hai. For e.g. – jab mere father kamre me aate the na hum khade ho jaate the, aaj mai aata hu toh mere bete baithe hai Jab mere father mujhe bolte ki shaadi me jana hai toh mai chalta tha, aaj agar mai bolu mere baccho ko shaadi me kyu jana hai toh bolna padta hai Bua nahi ayegi isliye chalo.” He added, “I get a lot of criticism, log mujhe bolte hai, ‘Joh tum banate ho, waise duniya hai kaha?’.“
Talking about the SonyLIV show, Sooraj Barjatya continued, “Toh mera ispe reheta hai ki, koi na koi toh sikhega, kahi na kahi iske aansh chutenge, agar nahi dikhaya toh aadmi sirf doubt, doubt, doubt ke daldal me phasa rahega. Toh yeh same cheeze Bada Naam Karenge ke time bhi aayi thi, ‘Kaun dekhega aisa?’ Toh maine kaha, ‘Koi nahi bhi dekhe but, mai sirf yeh chata hu ki ek cheez banane taki test kare.’
( I think someone or the other will learn a thing or two, this will leave its mark. If I don’t make shows like this, people may just doubt themselves all the time. This is exactly what happened on the sets of Bada Naam Karenge, and people used to ask me, ‘Who’s gonna watch this?’ to that, I say, I don’t care who doesn’t, but, I still wanna make this to test things out)
Isliye aap dekho toh Bada Naam Karenge me bhola pann hai. Maine director ko sirf itna bola ki, ‘Bhole rakkho dono ko.’ Bholapan rakhna tha ki jhut nahi bol sakte, jhut bol rahe hai toh guilt hota hai, taaki yeh real rahe rather than, filmo jaisa sensational youth.“
(If you see in Bada Naam Karenge, there’s a hint of innocence, I only told the director to make it seem innocent, to make the character feel the guilt if they lie)
